美國波士頓遊學之旅 - Part20(2009/04/10)

Which food is very popular or traditional in your country? I just list some special food from Taiwan.
"Stinky Tofu", "Oyster Omelet", "Beef Noodles", Shrimp Fried Rice", "Dumpling", "Tofu Pudding"
"Steamed Dumpling" and "Bubble Tea"

Today we need to prepare some food and share it with everybody.

I just prepared the "Bubble Tea" which is very easy to get in Boston. But, it's very expensive.
I spent $13.44 USD to get four bottles. ($3.36 USD / bottle)

My classmates: Fiona and Yoku.

My Japanese classmate prepared the "Seafood Osaka burns".

The "Seafood Osaka burns" is cooked by Yoku. It was very delicious. Thanks Yoku.

I don't know what is the name of this kind of food. I just knew it included "Korea kimchi".
It was very delicious too. Thanks Park.

I really like kimchi. When we finished our class, Park shared some kimchi to me. Thanks Park.

My Korean classmate prepared the "kimchi". Thanks Milee.

My Taiwanese classmate prepared the "Marinated Stew food". Thanks Fiona.

People are very interested in seeing sport games in America. For example, basketball (NBA),
baseball (MLB), hockey and foodball are very popular in the USA.
Celtics was the champion last year (2007-2008).

This is my first time I join the NBA game. I don't know when will be the next one. So, I bought an
expensive ticket. (USD $191.5)

There are basketball and hockey games in the Northbank Garden gymnasium in Boston.

The gymnasium is very very big. I was very excited when I walked into the gymnasium.

This is my seat. The view was very good. Because I spent about $200 to buy this ticket.

Wow!!! Just warm up, then I saw Paul to slam-duck.

Where is my classmates? They sat in the section #310. The price of a ticket is $35 USD.
Do you know how far is the distance between their seats and players. Let me show you (10x).

I think you can understand now why I bought this ticket, even thouth it's very expensive.

Paul Pierce (Celtics #34), Vince Carter (Nets #15) and Glen Davis (Celtics #11)

I didn't know Vince was in the Nets, haha. It's really good, I can see him in Boston.

Rajon Rondo (Celtics #9) and Ray Allen (Celtics #20)

Paul Pierce (Celtics #34)

I was enjoying this game very much. The atmosphere was very good. Sometimes, we needed to say
"D-Fense" or "Let's Go Celtics". Everybody had fun in this game. It was really good to relax yourself.

I was very busy in this game. Sometimes, I needed to take pictures with my DSLR. Sometimes,
I needed to recored some videos. I tried to take some great pictures. But, the speed of the camera
shutter is not enough. I think maybe I need to upgrade my DSLR. Haha!

Finally, the celtics won this game. 106 against 104.

But, I didn't see another super star - Kevin Garnett (Celtics #5). He is very popular in Taiwan.
It's very regrettable.

The original plan was going to a sea food restaurant to eat lobster today. Have you ever eaten lobster?
Everyone will ask you this question if you travel to Boston.
We changed our original plan and ate our lunch in a Taiwan's restaurant.

When we finished our lunch, we went to the Quincy Market to watch the street-performers.

The Haymarket is very close to the Quincy Market. Here we can buy the cheapest fruits and vegetables.

Today, they tried to cook two kinds of Chinese food in our apartment. It's really delicious.
Eve cooked the tomato with eggs.

Clair cooked broccoli.

I brought a electric pot from Taiwan. So, I could cook delicious rice easily.

美國波士頓遊學之旅 - Part16(2009/04/02)

Ummuhan is my classmate and she is from Turkey. Today, we would like to eat Turkey's food
I have never eaten this kind of food in Taiwan. This is my first time that I eat Turkey's food.
It's relaay cool and special.

Clair and Ummuhan.

I think the cook is from Turkey too. Because Ummuhan can speek Turkish with him.

Doner Kebab - Lamb ( $11.75 USD)

Doner Kebab - Beef ( $11.75 USD)

My friends asked me why I was never on the pictures. Everyone can't take pictures with my DSLR,
because it's hard to use it. This is why I can't get any pictures of me.
But, I got one picture of me today. ^^

Today I go to the "New England Aquarium". Two weeks ago, I went to a Taiwan's restaurant in
Chinatown. I met a family who is from Taiwan too. But, they have been living in Boston for 14
years. Lianne is a very kind person. She handed me out two free tickets for the "New England
Aquarium" and invited me in her house. I was very happy to meet her and her family.

The "New England Aquarium" is near the Aquarium station (Blue line)

The New England Aquarium (The IMAX Theatre is very closed to the Aquarium)
For adults it's $19.95 USD and for children it's $11.95 USD. If you want to visit the IMAX theatre
too, you can buy the combo ticket. For adults it's $25.95 and for children it's $17.95 USD.
Although it's very expensive, there are many people who visit the Aquarium. It's amazing !!!
Hours ( Winter ):
Monday - Friday: 9 am - 5 pm
Weekends & Holidays: 9 am - 6 pm
Hours ( Summer ):
Monday - Friday: 9 am - 6 pm
Weekends & Holidays: 9 am - 7 pm

When you'll enter the aquarium, they will help you to take a picture.

There are many penguins in the aquarium.

What are you doing penguin? Ha! Ha!

Is it comfortable? The penguin is enjoying the air condition while he's sleeping.

It's really a shark. Is it horrible?

Electricity Fish (電鰻)
It will display the current voltage. I don't know why everyone is enabled the flash and took pictures.
Why nobody wants to stop them? Sometimes, you can see the voltage reaching to the "Killing Prey"
area.

Sea Dragon (海馬)

This man is working in the aquarium and will answer everybody's questions on the upper floor.

I like these mugs. But, I have already bought two Harvard mugs. (The price is almost the same)
